Google is processing 20,000 terabytes a day!
Do you know? Some Google engineers were able to put some numbers on how Google is indexing and storing the web, processing search results, and serving up ads - everyday. As it turns out, Google, the high and mighty - master of all search engines, as of last September, has been processing 20,000 terabytes of data (20 petabytes) a day. And that was last September. That is some massive amount of computation and data! If Yahoo and Microsoft will not decide to top that large-scale computing capability then these companies will not be able to defeat Google. But then again, who can? |
